چکیده مقاله :
The development of simple methods for the removal of heavy metal cations from water samples is a relevant field of research. For this purpose, a novel magnetic nanocomposite for removal of Cd2+ was fabricated using the surface coating of Fe3O4 nanoparticles with amino silane. Then, this procedure was followed by functionalization with isophthaloyl chloride, and hybridization by nano montmorillonite. The resulting nanocomposite was characterized by various methods including FT- IR, SEM, XRD, VSM and used for removal of Cd(II) ion from aqueous solutions. Experiments were designed by response surface methodology (RSM) and a reduced quartic model was used to predict the variables. The adsorption parameters such as time, pH and initial ion concentration were used as the independent variables and their effects on Cd2+ ion removal were investigated. Analysis of variance was incorporated to judge the adequacy of the models. Maximum adsorption potential for lead was achieved at pH = 7.5, initial concentration of 90 ppm, and time of 70 minutes. The predictions of the model were in good agreement with experimental results and the Fe3O4@SiO2@isophthaloyl chloride/MMT nanocomposite was successfully used to remove Cd2+ from aqueous solutions.
