چکیده مقاله :
This paper presents a simple and robust technique for estimating seismic response of single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) structural systems. It is mainly formulated to deal with linear damped structural systems whose damping ratio ζ is almost greater than 0.01. The method is called Load Impulse Method (LIM) because it is inspired from impulse conservation concept in dynamics. Assessment of linear SDOF systems under any arbitrary excitations is easily possible through the proposed method. Less error propagation occurs through analyzing process of LIM. Numerical example reveals the simplicity and robustness of the new technique compared with Duhamel integral and Newmark-β method.
