چکیده مقاله :
During the last decade, hydrogels have been used as efficient adsorbent materials for the removal of pollutant from aqueous solution due to their high water retention, low cost and a large number of functional groups. The pH-sensitive N-vinyl imidazole-based hydrogels are extensively used as adsorbent for azo dyes removal. In recent years, some efforts have been made on new hydrogels development with superior physicochemical and mechanical properties by incorporating the carbon-based nanomaterials into polymer networks. In this work, we reported a new and prominent nanocomposite adsorbent (PVI/GO) prepared by conventional free radical polymerization and simultaneously cross-linking of N-vinyl imidazole using imidazolium-based dicationic ionic liquid as a cross-linker and graphene oxide (GO) as a nanofiller with different feeding amounts. We examined the influence of pH, contact time and initial congo red and methyl orange concentration on the adsorption capacity. The synthesized PVI/GO hydrogels were characterized by FT-IR, TGA, DSC, EDX, XRD and SEM. Experimental results show that PVI/GO nanocomposite hydrogels with 0.25 and 3 wt% of GO have a very good potential for the removal of anionic dyes from aqueous solution.
